Wedding Stationery

Creating the right first impression for your wedding can be as simple as getting the stationery right. This can portray your whole scheme or give tempting clues to what you are planning.
At Wedding Workshop we are firm believers in most people can create something wonderful by themseles. We are in the process of putting together a collection of Make it yourself, stationery kits which will provide you with everything you need to make your own wonderful stationery, but with just a touch of priting and gluing and also a whole range of pieces for you to create your own. This can be such an easy thing to do and saves you so much money on professionally made invites (with only a small difference in the finsihed product).
So we can recommend a nice glass of wine on a cold night and get creating.

It only takes one idea....

...to make a plan come together. This was our philosophy when planning our wedding 8 years ago this year. It still only seems like yesterday, but within the last 5 years I have also personally been able to be part of 170 other couples big days.

I am Kate Page the owner of the new company called Wedding Workshop, but over the last 5 years I have been working as a wedding and event florist around Cambridge. This coupled with The Newmarket Wedding Show has given me a very open view of weddings and the hopes and dreams of the couple for their big day. It is with all these aspects in mind that we (my husband and I) have started Wedding Workshop to give you the options for planning your big day and getting the look of your wedding just right.

As for our wedding day plan, it was simple. We were having our reception in an Orangery, the building traditionally used on large estates to house the orange trees. Whatever our wedding had about it, it certainly had to have an element of oranges.

Orangery has always had a lot of meaning for us and it is with this in mind that all our companies come under one roof of the Orangery Group (The Newmaket Wedding Show, Orangery Flowers and Wedding Workshop).

Wedding Workshop will be launching on  4th September 2011 at The Newmarket Wedding Show.

Do flowers always have to be real ?

Personally I am not a fan of artificial flowers or the silk ones that you cna find in shops. I have always thought they were a poor imitation of the real thing. Although my love of flowers really does extend as far as possible, my hands are not as willing. Late last year I had an operation on my right hand to see if the problem could be solved, but alas it is with regret that I will stop doing floristry at the end of 2011.

What I have discovered though is that I have an interest in creating flowers in different ways. This has been seen at The Newmarket Wedding Show in January and had allowed me to play with different materials to create some fantastic flowers. So to give you an glipse of what is to come, these are some of the ideas I have been working on. I have made Roses and Ranunculas from skeleton leaves and have made Peonies from ribbons. There is great flexibility with this as well as the flowers will not die and can be kept forever. They can be made into many things including Wedding Bouquets, Corsgaes, Wrist Corsages and Buttonholes and not forgetting Headdresses for flowergirls. They are also more flexible than flowers for colourings, as they can be made out of many fabrics and mateirals. This means you could match your wedding colours, for example, maybe with a large cream carmen rose bouquet with brown leaves and centre and tied with chocolate ribbon.
